Alana Mathews

Alana Mathews is the Director of Policy Resources, Training and Membership for the Prosecutors Alliance of California.

She is also an adjunct professor at McGeorge School of Law and a former prosecutor for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office where she prosecuted misdemeanor, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, violent and serious felonies and prison crimes. She has tried over 50 jury and court trials and supervised special calendars and collaborative courts.

Ms. Mathews serves as a legal expert for local news affiliates, and regional and national publications. In addition to her expertise in criminal law, Ms. Mathews is a former political appointee and recognized expert on environmental and climate justice and has been featured in local and national media on environmental equity issues. Ms. Mathews earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Spelman College and her J.D. and LL.M from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
